Cancellations / Re-scheduling of Appointments

Due to the increasing number of patients not attending appointments and not informing us that they will not attend or cancel their appointments, the “Cancellation fee will now apply”.

We understand that emergencies happen, but we kindly request that if you need to cancel or re-schedule your appointment, please give us as much notice as possible.

Cancellation fees will be as follows:

  • Short Appointment:  $50
  • Long Appointment:  $75

Appointments

Appointments are made at 15 minute intervals.

If you feel you need more time with the Doctor, please let our reception staff know when making your appointment.

Longer consultations may be required for: Procedures (excisions, sunspot removals etc.), Multiple or Complex concerns, Completion of forms or Mental Health Issues and counselling sessions.

Home Visits

Home visits are available for patients who are unable to travel to the practice due to ill health and are provided at the discretion of the doctor. If you need a home visit please discuss with the reception staff.

After-hours Care

GP After-hours Service is a  mixed billed service that operates from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Fees and Billing Arrangements

Ace Medical Centre is a Private-billing practice. Please ensure that you bring your current Medicare, Centrelink or Veterans’ Affairs card and your bank card  with you on each visit. You will be charged for your consultations and you can claim back immediately if you are paying us by debit card.

For Recall appointments ( Discuss results ) will be bulk billed unless there is new issue discussed with the doctor , there will be cost involved.

Bulk Billing is only be for :

  • School going children up-to 16 years old.
  • Our Regular Pensioners over age 65 years.

Non Regular Pensioners will be charged.

Please be aware that, while consultations are Private billed, not all services offered by this clinic are funded by Medicare. These services include, but are not limited to:

  • Medical examinations for commercial driver’s licence or pilot licence
  • Employer requested examinations and medical reports
  • Examinations for entry into schools and Colleges
  • Examinations for health insurances Compensation related medical services
  • Mine or Pre-employment Medicals and drug screening

In these instances, a private account may be issued. Please feel free to discuss any concerns you may have with reception staff.

Privacy Statement

This practice is committed to maintaining the confidentiality of your personal health information. Your medical record is a confidential document and is the practice policy to maintain security of your health records at all times in accordance with the Privacy Act 1998.

Specialists

The practice works closely with both public and private specialist services and can arrange referrals or consultations using telehealth to reduce the need for patients to travel. The practice is also working towards visiting specialist services.

Results

Appointments need to be scheduled at the practice with the doctor to discuss/obtain your results (pathology, ultrasounds/x-rays and specialist report). Reception staff cannot discuss specific results with you.

Please take your ultrasound/x-ray with you when you leave the practice. You may need these for future appointments with other doctors/specialist to help with your health care.

CTG (Closing the gap)

Ace Medical Centre is now signing up Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander patients for the Indigenous Health Incentive and Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme co-payment measure. This will provide better management for your Chronic Disease or Chronic Disease Risk Factors.
